Malaysia to Vietnam

Ship life...

March 24, 2008- Being Sick on a ship is not so fun

I spent most of today laying in my bed.  I am not sure what is wrong with me, but anytime I eat, I get sharp pains in my stomach.  Being sick on the ship is not fun at all.  I laid in my room for most of the day, trying to get rid of whatever it wrong with me before getting to Vietnam…we only have 2 days.  Unfortunately there is no way of getting fresh air in your cabin L, and I wasn’t feeling well enough to relocate myself outside.  Let’s just say it was one of those days where I tough to myself… “I want my mommy.”

March 25, 2008 – Refueling in Singapore … still sick

Today we are bunkered in Singapore to refuel the ship.  Unfortunately, none of us are allowed to get off the ship and explore Singapore, it is just being used as a place to refuel.  Singapore, I have learned, is the cleanest country in the world.  Chewing gum is prohibited in Singapore and if you are caught chewing it, you can be heavily fined or taken to jail.

Unfortunately I still don’t feel well today.  I decided to leave my room and go outside to the seventh deck to at least take a look at Singapore.  I couldn’t see all that much from the ship, but at least I did get to take a look at Singapore.  From the view I had on the boat, I didn’t happen to spot any trash!  Other than looking at Singapore for a little while on the 7th deck, I laid in my room for most of the day, hoping that whatever was wrong with me would just go away…wishful thinking!
